Bringing up The Children

• Celebrate the birth of a child with joy and exchange messages of congratulation on such occasions.
• Always treat your children with affection, love and tenderness. Keep them happy by providing for their needs and requirements according to your means. Promote sentiments of loyalty and devotion in your children.
• Always keep your children clean and neat. Take care that they are clean, neat and bathed. Keep their dress clean.
• Do not point out the faults of your children in the presence of others and strictly abstain from degrading or hurting the self-respect of your children.
• Praise them generously even for their ordinary virtues in order to boost up their morale. Make constant endeavors to encourage them, and to foster self-confidence and boldness in them so that they may strive for the highest goals in the field of life.
• Inculcate the habit of self help in children. They should not look to the servants to do every little job for them. This habit makes the children lazy and crippled in some ways.
• Always present a good practical model before the children. Your own life style serves as a mute and permanent precept for your children. Children constantly learn and adopt lessons from your own conduct in life. Do not tell a lie even as a matter of fun before the children.

Host Etiquette

Hosting an event is not an easy task, and it is definitely not an easy task for hosting a successful and pleasant event. Therefore, it will be wise to follow some of the fundamental guidelines on the host etiquette to guide you through the event to ensure a pleasant time for everyone involved, including you as the host. After all, you are the only one who will determine the outcome of the event from your planning, preparation and hosting of the event.
Some of the fundamental host etiquette guidelines include not to constraint your guests with a strict period, making your guests feel like home, and being a well-prepared host. These can help to prevent your hosted event becoming a disaster before it even started, and will allow your guests to enjoy the time you have provided for them.
Following the proper host etiquette, it is important not to trap your guests with a strict time line on an event. It will be wise to give your guests some spaces to breathe and enjoying themselves as much as possible with their own ways. You will not want to see your guests continuously glancing on their watches, but rather have them hoped for more time could be spent at your place at the end of the event. Furthermore, it will be essential to have your guests feel like home to ensure they will have a good time being at your place. Whereby, you can do so by preparing some personal spaces for your guests, and try to avoid using any of the spaces while your guests are there, so they will not feel like they are intruding your house. In addition, out of all things, it is important for you as a host to be well prepared during the event to avoid any awkward moment for your guests such as running out of toilet paper in your washroom. That definitely will not be pleasant.
• Express your joy and love on the arrival of a guest. Greet him with a cheerful heart. Welcome him with open arms and show him every mark of respect and honor.
• Show generous hospitality to your guests and offer them the best that is readily available.
• As soon as the guest arrives, think first of his natural human needs. Arrange a bath for him, if it is required.
• Do feel pleasure when the guests are dining with you. Do not show any signs of stinginess, annoyance or weariness.
• Protect the honor and dignity of your guest and consider his honor and dignity as vital as your own. In case any one poses a threat to the honor of your guest, you should consider it a challenge to your own honor and conscience.
• Show selflessness and sacrifice in the case of a guest. Provide comfort to him at the cost of your own convenience.

Guest Etiquette

It's a lot of fun to go to parties and celebrate various occasions with your friends and family but sometimes we forget about good guest party etiquette. These are the rules or guidelines that help keep us from infringing on the goodwill and goodtimes of our hosts and of course make them all the more likely to invite us back to the next party.
1.) Take a small gift to the party. No matter what type of party it is, you'll always be on safe ground to take a small gift for the hosts. At a baby shower this would a gift for the baby, such as a diaper bag or baby bottles. At a Labor Day party the gift is more likely to be in the form of a casserole or dessert item to add to the buffet.
2.) Arrive at the stated time of the start of the party, but not too much before. Every party will have a couple of guests who show up half an hour to an hour before the party begins. It's a little bit awkward for the host who may still be running around trying to get the finishing touches of the party together. Its better to wait and try to arrive at a party about fifteen to thirty minutes after the stated start time. This way you give the host plenty of time and give other guests a chance to arrive at the party to mingle with.
3.) Always thank the host for having such a good time. This may take the form of thanking them on the way out the door or sending a thank you letter a few days later. It depends on the importance of the occasion. You probably don't need to send a thank you letter for the Labor Day party, but it might be nice to send a quick note to the host of a bridal shower who took a lot of time and effort to put together the party for the bride.
4.) Don't overstay your welcome at the party. Some guests may not realize just when the party is over and can overstay their welcome in an attempt to keep the fun going. Remember to watch the clock and listen for subtle hints such as, 'boy, its getting late' from your hosts or other guests.
1. When you pay a visit to someone as a guest, do take some gifts for the host or for his children according to your means.
2. Do not always be a guest of others. Invite others also to be your guests and entertain them liberally.
3. When you go to stay as a guest with somebody, take necessary baggage according to the season along with you.
4. Keep in mind the engagements and duties of your host. Take care of your host’s occupation, duties and engagements are not in anyway disturbed by your presence as guest with him.
5. Do not make all sorts of demands on your host. Do not put him in any extraordinary trouble.
